The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join an established multi-department firm as a senior lawyer who brings an existing client following and grows it. The role blends client development, matter leadership and coaching of junior attorneys, with a practical, business-minded approach to service.

What you'll do

- Transition your own client relationships to the firm and expand them over time.

- Cross-sell additional legal services to clients across several departments.

- Offer regionally competitive fees to keep cost-conscious clients and attract new ones.

- Partner with dedicated marketing staff to shape and carry out a business development plan.

- Coach and develop associates and counsel working on your matters.

- If you are a real estate partner with a sizeable practice, take on leadership of the department as the current head steps back.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Partner-level experience in any practice area with documented originations of $500K+ over the last 2 to 3 years.

- Originations that come from clients you personally brought in, not institutional or shared relationship credit.

- A steady, stable career track record.

- A client base with no conflicts of interest.

- Fee structures suited to the local market rather than a large-city firm.

- A collegial, collaborative working style and a business-oriented approach to client service, including strategic counseling and efficiency.

Bonus points

- Real estate or land use background with a $1M+ book.

- Experience with commercial or transactional property matters in the region.

- Prior partner-level experience at a large urban firm.

- Experience leading or bringing over a group of attorneys.

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 250,000 to 500,000 per year

Location and work model

- Hybrid, New Jersey and New York, United States

- A couple of days per week in office, with added flexibility for partners with large books

- Full-time
