Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health Consultant)

About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Health Clinic Annapolis in Annapolis,Maryland. The incumbent serves as a clinical psychologist embedded within an interdisciplinary primary care team and works collaboratively with primary care providers, nurses, & other healthcare professionals. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Make mental health diagnoses in accordance with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

Provide individual and group treatment.

Assess acute mental health and mental medicine conditions.

Perform biopsychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of clinical psychology.

Conduct outpatient group classes, stress management, relaxation training, and smoking cessation training.

Participate in quality assurance activities.

Monitor the use of community resources.

Provide expertise in human behavior as a mental health team member.

Evaluate training opportunities and orientation activities.

Provide consultation to other clinic providers regarding psychological treatment options.
