Leadman ID Grind - 2nd Shift

Overview of the Position:

Monitor and control production in your particular area. Ensure that departmental employees are following established procedures when processing parts. Monitor the productivity of assigned employees to ensure the department meets production goals and objectives. As the primary trainer, make sure all new employees receive the required (OJT) training and are proficient in all required tasks. Check all outgoing parts for recurring problems, document these problems and recommend corrective action. Understand and enforce all company rules, policies, & procedures, reporting violations to Human Resources. Learn and enforce special work procedures that pertain to your department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working with the Production Mgr. to ensure that the proper personnel are in place to accomplish objectives & goals.
• Monitor and control production in your particular area.
• Ensure that assigned employees are following established procedures when processing parts.
• Monitor the productivity of assigned employees to ensure the department meets production goals and objectives.
• As the primary trainer, make sure all new employees receive the required (OJT) training and are proficient in all tasks.
• Check all outgoing parts for recurring problems document these problems and recommend corrective action.
• Process all "HOT" parts in a timely manner.
• Notify the Production Manager of any maintenance needs.
• Notify the Production Manager of the need to work department overtime.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must read and write the English language.
• Should have basic computer software and keyboarding skills.
• Prior work experience in grinding/plating/machining/quality
• Should be able to read blueprints.
• Capable of teaching and training other employees in all aspects of departmental processes.
• Capable of increasing departmental production and accuracy levels.

Education / Experience Requirements:

• Must have H. S. Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2-5 years directly related experience.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 10 pounds.
• Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Is frequently required to talk or listen.
• Works in moderate noise levels.
• Lift heavy part chucks (50-100 lbs.)
• Lift heavy grinding rocks (50-90 lbs.)
• Lift heavy parts (50-80 lbs.)
• Most of the heavy lifting occurs in the O. D. Shop.
• No vision requirements.
