About the role

This announcement will be used to establish a register of qualified candidates for the position of Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Patrol Agent in Charge). This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland. This position starts at a salary of $129,258.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $168,040.00 (GS-14, Step 10). As a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (PAIC), you will serve as a secondary administrative law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8331 (20) and 8412 (d) and be responsible for: Overseeing all station-wide operations from administrative functions to enforcement initiatives, while directing station-wide intelligence and interdiction activities, both foreign and domestic, involving the collection, correlation, evaluation, and dissemination of intelligence information gained through operations, informants, and liaison development programs. Exercising supervisory and managerial responsibilities over subordinates and support staff employees to accomplish mission objectives and foster the development of others by facilitating cooperation and teamwork with supporting agencies and supporting constructive resolutions of conflicts with partnering agencies. Participating with other Border Patrol program officials regarding relevant laws and regulations and maintains a cooperative relationship with CBP and DHS agencies, utilizing local resources to maximize consequences, support agency directed initiatives, and in implementing the national strategy. Maintaining the station's budget and hiring by managing several programs that have significant resources and monitors and analyzes all personnel, financial, and material needs in to order to ensure the maximum cost effectiveness in the programs' operations, while making recommendations for the selection of supervisors and nonsupervisory subordinates, providing for effective performance management of subordinate staff. Leading and participating in joint planning and intelligence gathering activities, such as the collection, correlation, evaluation, and dissemination of intelligence information gained through operations, informants, and liaison development programs and conducts interagency operations in several operational domains on the land, lakes and rivers, and in the air; supervising and directing federal law enforcement program initiatives of considerable difficulty and complexity in the identification, apprehension and prosecution of individuals who violate the Immigration and Nationality Act and related laws.

VRP Relocation Authorized: Relocation Expenses and GSA Lump Sum (VRP) Payments: Agents relocating will receive the following lump sum amount, depending on their status. These lump sum payments are in lieu of any other relocation payments, the home buyout is not included under this relocation. · $13,600 for one-person households who do not own a home. · $25,625 for multiple person households who do not own a home. · $36,175 for one-person households who own a home. · $48,175 for multiple person households who own a home. These lump sum amounts are before taxes. CBP will treat the entire lump sum as fully taxable and accordingly will use the flat rate method for withholding appropriate Federal Income Taxes, FICA and Medicare. All lump sum payments will be received through direct deposit. A GSA Lump Sum (VRP) Verification Process has been established. Please be informed that, within 90 days after your report date, you will be requested to provide valid documentation confirming that you have established a residence closer to the new duty location. Further information on this process will be provided during the selection process. Agents relocating into or out of Puerto Rico will receive a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move in lieu of a GSA Lump Sum (VRP) payment, subject to the availability of relocation funding.
