About the role

Primary Purpose
Coordinates multiple compliance projects and ensures alignment with organizational objectives. Guides staff in applying regulatory standards and fosters continuous improvement in environmental practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees multiple compliance projects and ensures alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develops operational plans for environmental programs and monitors execution.
  • Interfaces with regulatory agencies on behalf of the organization for routine matters.
  • Reviews and approves compliance documentation prepared by team members.
  • Identifies process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency.
  • Provides technical support and coaching to supervisors and staff.
  • Tracks performance metrics for environmental programs and reports results.
  • Ensures timely resolution of compliance issues identified during audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Frequent, independent driving to meetings, company locations, field locations and/or active incidents sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance with traffic laws is essential to this position and cannot reasonably be accomplished via alternative transportation.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Required Experience

  • Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Data Analysis - Measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
  • Environmental Awareness - Understanding natural environment protection and the activities that can cause harm to the environment.
  • Environmental Permitting - Defining (in a transparent, accountable manner) legally binding requirements to protect human health and the environment.
  • Environmental Reporting - Communicating information about an organization's environmental performance and impacts.
  • Environmental Risk Management - Identifying, assessing, and managing risks and uncertainties associated with environmental factors. Analyzing potential hazards, evaluating their likelihood and potential consequences, implementing risk control measures, and monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
  • Policy Design and Development - The effort to develop efficient and effective policies through the application of knowledge about policy.
  • Policy Management - Creates, implements and maintains policies and procedures within an organization.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Relationship Management - Develops, strengthens, and maintains productive business relationships by proactively engaging stakeholders, fostering trust, and ensuring the customer experience remains consistent across every interaction.
  • Stakeholder Management - The process of organizing, monitoring and improving relationships with stakeholders.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • A valid California driver's license is required.
