This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for Environmental Health, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. As an Environmental Engineer, you will: Lead complex environmental engineering analyses, evaluations, and modeling associated with chemical warfare materiel recovery, treatment, demilitarization, and hazardous materials operations. Evaluate the design, operation, performance, reliability, and adequacy of environmental and engineering control systems, including ventilation, air handling, containment, treatment, monitoring, and other safeguards. Serve as the lead environmental engineering expert on multidisciplinary and multi-agency inspections of chemical demilitarization, hazardous materials recovery, treatment, and disposal facilities. Serves as CDC's environmental engineering technical expert and liaison with DoD, EPA, regulatory agencies, and other federal, state, and local organizations. Provides authoritative technical consultation, develops and presents engineering findings and recommendations, and leads development of environmental engineering guidance, standardized methodologies, technical protocols, assessment tools, and training materials.
