Custodian - PRN (As Needed)

Job Title: Custodian   

Reports To: Camp Directors 

Status: Non-Exempt   

Location: Various Camp Locations 

JOB SUMMARY

Support the health and sustainability of all people and property at camp. It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, sanitizing, and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism and long-term damage to the facilities.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces 
•  Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets 
•  Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock items such as paper towels and toilet paper as needed.  
•  Wipe mirrors and windows 
•  Report damage and issues to leadership staff so they are addressed as quickly as possible. Work as part of a team that serves high quality programming to Girl Scouts year round Other duties as assigned   

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•  Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances 
•  Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components 
•  Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, summer staff, and parents Excellent time management skills   
•  Ability to work as part of a team  
•  Ability to stand for an extended amount of time and traverse uneven terrain  
•  Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal, and Sex Offender background check Prefer to be 21 years or older and have a clean driving record to use equipment  

*Must successfully complete a criminal, and motor vehicle background check.

Requirements

This is a seasonal position that operates on an as-needed basis. Work schedules during the peak season will generally range from 1 to 3 days per week.
