About the role
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Mission Readiness Operations Division, Fleet Department located in McAllen, TX. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
In this position, you will provide comprehensive administrative, workforce, fleet, property, and facilities support to ensure sector operations run efficiently and in compliance with policy. This support directly enables the U.S. Border Patrol to sustain its personnel, assets, and infrastructure so frontline law enforcement operations can effectively carry out the agency's mission. This position starts at a salary of $61,722.00 (GS-9, Step 1) to $80,243.00 (GS-9, Step 10). As a Mission Support Specialist (Generalist), you will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative, workforce, fleet, property, and facilities support services to meet operational needs of the sector. Typical duties of this assignment include: Processing lost, stolen, destroyed, or missing personal property. Assists with conducting inventories, assists with records management, and assists with the preparing/processing of various property reports. Assists higher graded specialists and supervisors with managing base pay, premium pay, overtime, and leave entitlements and administration. Preparing and conducting the agency's invoice reconciliation process. Preparing local records management and assists with producing various fleet reports.
