The Director of Sales Operations provides strategic leadership for the operational infrastructure supporting the Sales organization while serving as the enterprise owner of CRM strategy across Sales and Service. Additionally, the role also focuses on driving regional business development strategies and their implementation to bolster lead generation and sales opportunities. This role leads Sales Administration, operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, business systems, reporting, and process improvement to ensure the organization operates efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with long-term business objectives.

Working closely with Leadership, the Director of Sales Operations develops scalable systems, establishes operational standards, and provides the visibility, technology, and processes necessary for informed decision-making. This position serves as the operational connector between Sales, Service, Marketing, and Finance, driving accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.

Core Leadership Areas

Implementation of Strategic Business Development Initiatives - Design and implementation of regional business development activities that will drive new and used sales leads and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop regional business development strategies to drive 10% YOY revenue growth in sales and brokerage. Work with VP of Sales to set strategic activities and goals.
  • Lead administrators to execute National strategies at a regional level to support growth goals. 
  • Lead generation strategies through regional email marketing campaigns, property research, pop up events, collaborations with other luxury organizations. 

Sales Administration Leadership - Lead and develop the Sales Administration team while creating an operational culture focused on consistency, accountability, and exceptional internal support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Administration team. 
  • Establish operational standards and best practices across all sales support functions. 
  • Build scalable processes that improve efficiency. 
  • Standardize documentation, approvals, reporting, and administrative processes. 
  • Improve communication between departments to ensure seamless execution. 
  • Develop meeting cadence, operational reporting, and accountability structures. 
  • Support executive initiatives and organizational priorities. 

3. Sales Operations Leadership - Provide executive-level operational leadership through business planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and organizational strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual operating budgets for the Sales organization and monitor financial performance against established objectives.
  • Lead sales forecasting to improve organizational decision-making.
  • Develop multi-year plans aligned with company growth initiatives.
  • Partner with Leadership on strategic operational initiatives. 
  • Develop KPI dashboards and executive reporting. 
  • Improve forecasting, pipeline visibility, and operational planning. 
  • Establish standardized lead management and opportunity management processes. 
  • Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements. 
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects involving Sales, Service, Marketing, Finance, and IT. 
  • Drive continuous process improvement throughout the organization. 

4. Enterprise CRM Leadership- Serve as the strategic owner of Salesforce and related business systems supporting both Sales and Service.

Responsibilities

  • Execute CRM strategy, governance, and long-term roadmap. 
  • Ensure data quality, user adoption, and reporting accuracy. 
  • Design workflows, automation, dashboards, and executive reporting. 
  • Lead CRM training and ongoing education. 
  • Develop standardized CRM processes across Sales and Service. 
  • Lead CRM training, onboarding, and ongoing education.
  • Oversee CRM integrations and evaluate future technology solutions. 
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation and system enhancements. 
  • Maintain governance surrounding CRM usage and reporting. 

5. Operational Sales CRM Policy & Process Leadership- Create operational consistency by developing policies, procedures, and standardized workflows that support organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop company operational policies and SOPs. 
  • Standardize processes across Sales and Service. 
  • Lead documentation and implementation of new initiatives. 
  • Partner with department leaders on process improvements. 
  • Ensure operational compliance and consistency. 
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets. 
  • Strong understanding of the yachting and boating industry.  
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other software tools. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to build long-term relationships. 
  • Prior experience in the luxury market (a plus).
