Primary Purpose
Analyzes complex accounting standards and interprets implications for organizational practices. Develops detailed policy documentation and provides guidance to ensure accurate application across diverse transactions and reporting requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes complex accounting standards and interprets implications for organizational practices.
Drafts detailed policy documents and ensures clarity and accuracy for end users.
Provides guidance on applying policies to non-standard or unique transactions.
Prepares impact assessments for upcoming regulatory changes and advises on readiness plans.
Leads small projects to implement new accounting policies using structured project management approaches.
Communicates sensitive policy issues and builds consensus among stakeholders.
Reviews and validates compliance for high-risk or unusual transactions.
Develops training materials and conducts sessions on updated accounting standards for internal teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience

Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required: Ability to assess accounting implications of non-routine business activities.
Required: Ability to collaborate with finance, legal, and operational partners on accounting matters.
Required: Ability to communicate complex accounting conclusions clearly and persuasively.
Required: Knowledge of advanced accounting standards and their application to diverse transactions.
Required: Knowledge of regulatory and disclosure requirements affecting financial reporting.
Required: Skill in drafting clear, well-supported accounting position papers.
Required: Skill in independently researching and interpreting accounting guidance.
