Shift Lead - Operations
Role Summary
The Shift Lead is a frontline operational leader responsible for supporting daily execution activities across the terminal or cross-dock operation. This position provides floor leadership, coordinates employee assignments, monitors operational performance throughout the shift, and helps ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The Shift Lead serves as the primary point of contact for hourly employees during the shift and partners with Logistics Clerks and Operations Managers to execute daily operational plans.

Shift Lead - Operations
Role Summary

The Shift Lead serves as the primary point of contact for hourly employees during the shift and partners with Logistics Clerks and Operations Managers to execute daily operational plans.
Primary Focus Areas
- Oversee daily freight handling and operational activities.
- Ensure employees are working efficiently and meeting performance expectations.
- Monitor dock activity, freight flow, housekeeping, and productivity throughout the shift.
- Address operational issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Support the achievement of safety, quality, and service goals.
- Provide day-to-day direction to warehouse, dock, and operational personnel.
- Communicate priorities and assignments at the start of shifts.
- Reinforce attendance, productivity, and safety expectations.
- Assist with employee training and onboarding activities.
- Maintain a visible presence on the floor and lead by example.
- Coordinate staffing assignments based on workload.
- Facilitate shift turnover communications.
- Communicate operational issues to Logistics Clerks and Operations Managers.
- Support execution of staffing and workflow adjustments throughout the shift.
- Assist with maintaining operational continuity during peak periods.
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment
- Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time
