About the role
Eligibility for V-Assignments positions is restricted to employees currently holding a Full-Time job classification. This position is a temporary assignment (V - Assignment) to last up to 6 months.

Primary Purpose
Advances safety performance by leading audits, analyzing incident trends, and providing technical guidance to reduce risks and strengthen compliance across operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acts as a safety ambassador and advocate for safety awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
- Supports third-party audits or regulatory inspections, preparing documentation, conducting site walk-throughs, and responding to technical inquiries.
- Conducts regular reviews of safety/fire safety equipment and systems to verify operational readiness and initiate maintenance or replacements as needed.
- Assesses ergonomic risks within the facility and implement control measures to reduce injury risks.
- Participates in development of training lesson plan content and provide regulatory compliance training to personnel for new hire safety orientations and annual required training.
- Monitors and interprets federal, state, and local safety and health rules and regulations which impact the business units and recommend compliance options in conjunction with safety standards, policies and programs.
- Communicates and promote safety initiatives and successes to employees and stakeholders.
- Provides technical guidance on safe work practices for high-risk tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: 4-year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
- Required: 5 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required: Ability to independently manage moderately complex safety initiatives.
- Required: Ability to influence employees to adopt safer work practices.
- Required: Ability to resolve non-routine safety issues using professional judgment.
- Required: Knowledge of integrated safety management and loss prevention concepts.
- Required: Knowledge of regulatory interpretation and its application to specific work activities.
- Required: Skill in analyzing safety data to identify trends and contributing factors.
- Required: Skill in conducting hazard analyses and incident investigations.
