MECHANICAL ENGINEER

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Provides leadership as senior design engineer and technical team facilitator in the Electrical-Mechanical Section of the Seattle District office. Performs major design development work assignments planning, designing, and coordinating mechanical engineering activities.

Independently performs major work assignments and applies a wealth of advanced concepts, principles, and practices of mechanical engineering.

Maintains awareness of new scientific developments and advances in mechanical design and construction.

Responds to requests for technical advice and assistance from team members.

Serves as a formal independent technical reviewer and serves in other review roles.

Provides technical team leadership on various types of projects.

Trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects.

Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, access, analyze, and improve team effectiveness.

Serves as the mechanical design expert in full range of mechanical systems for Military, CW, and IIS projects.
