About the role

About the Position: Positions are located within the Dept of Surgery and Dept of Medicine at Fort Gordon, GA. Incumbent will provide routine and specialized care to patients in various clinic settings. This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Provide practical nursing care to a diverse patient population with a variety of medical conditions.

Perform nursing tasks such as recording vital signs, ordering labs, tracking patient’s laboratory, radiology orders and referral results to completion for assigned patients.

Initiate and maintain medical histories for patients, records observations, and identifies symptoms for use by the clinician.

Perform direct nursing care to clinic patients via telemedicine, virtual, and face-to-face care.

Conduct focused nursing assessment and contribute to the care plan for assigned patients.

Maintain timely and accurate documentation of care provided in accordance with established protocols.

Communicate with patients and families to ensure they are informed about care plans and progress.

Administer prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed

Prepare and deliver oral, topical, and injectable medications while monitoring for and responding to side effects or adverse reactions.

Utilize electronic health record systems to enter and retrieve data.

Assist with resuscitations, stabilizations, and other critical interventions for patients.

Monitor patient responses during and after procedures, ensuring that any complications are addressed promptly.

Ensure compliance with infection control protocols throughout all procedures.

Provide patient and family education tailored to specific medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery goals.

Assist in counseling and educating patients in their care instructions such as, diet, acute or chronic illness, wellness/preventative health measures, immunizations, proper use of medical devices to address their questions about ongoing care.

Initiate emergency care as needed for patients.

Assemble, operate, and monitor specialized medical equipment in accordance with regulations.
