About the role

CMI Media Group is seeking a Supervisor, Audience Intelligence to lead research projects that help healthcare and pharmaceutical brands better understand and engage their audiences.

As a core project lead on our Audience Intelligence team, you’ll combine hands-on research expertise with strategic oversight. You’ll lead audience profiling, custom primary research, and social intelligence initiatives; serve as a day-to-day research partner to clients and agency teams; and mentor 1–2 Analysts and Senior Analysts. You’ll turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations while ensuring every project meets rigorous quality and regulatory standards.

What you’ll do

Lead research from brief to recommendation

  • Manage end-to-end audience intelligence projects, including surveys, audience profiling, and social listening.
  • Design and test survey questionnaires, and oversee data processing, cleaning, and quality control.
  • Support sampling plans, fieldwork logistics, and coordination with third-party research vendors.
  • Develop and refine social listening queries to find, organize, and analyze relevant healthcare conversations—including patient and HCP discussions, brand sentiment, therapeutic-area trends, and key opinion leaders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze first- and third-party data and understand HCP and direct-to-consumer audiences, their media behaviors, perceptions, patient journeys, and resource use.
  • Translate findings into audience profiles and strategic recommendations.

Build clear, useful stories from data

  • Combine primary and secondary research to identify audience behaviors, unmet needs, and media consumption patterns.
  • Present complex quantitative and qualitative findings in clear, visually engaging PowerPoint presentations.
  • Serve as a day-to-day research contact for client brand teams and agency partners.
  • Work closely with Media Planning, Engagement Strategy, Decision Sciences/Analytics, Creative, PR, and Search teams to put audience insights to work in channel, messaging, and media strategies.

Coach the team and support strong delivery

  • Supervise, guide, and review the day-to-day work of Analysts and Senior Analysts.
  • Provide constructive feedback and quality control across survey builds, query logic, data tables, social listening dashboards, and report drafts.
  • Train junior team members in research best practices, statistical tools, survey platforms, social listening tools, and data visualization.
  • Help track project timelines, team resources, software usage, vendor budgets, and inputs for Statements of Work (SOWs).

Improve how we work

  • Help evaluate emerging research technologies, social listening tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Contribute to standardized templates, analytical frameworks, automation, and training materials.
  • Stay current on pharmaceutical disease states, healthcare marketing trends, social platform changes, and evolving privacy and regulatory standards.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience combining quantitative primary research—such as survey design, data processing, and reporting—with social intelligence, including social listening query development and social data analysis.
  • Project and people leadership: 2–3+ years independently leading research projects and mentoring or supervising junior team members.
  • Industry knowledge: Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or media agency environments is strongly preferred. You understand the demands of regulated healthcare marketing and FDA compliance.
  • Research and listening tools: Proficiency with social listening platforms such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Brandwatch, or similar; statistical packages such as SPSS and/or SAS; and survey platforms such as Qualtrics or Forsta/Decipher.
  • Data and presentation skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data manipulation, logic, and reporting, and strong PowerPoint skills for data storytelling.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical client and agency stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Analytics, Communications, or a related quantitative or analytical field.

In this role, you’ll help turn audience understanding into smarter, more relevant healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing—while supporting the people and processes that make great research possible.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $70,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
