Stellantis is required to certify products to OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) requirements for US vehicles and to gain proper approvals for vehicles going to North American markets. The Environmental Test Manager is responsible for managing OBD certification testing for our vehicles during Durability Demonstration Vehicle (DDV) test programs. They are also responsible for managing Production Vehicle Evaluation (PVE) test programs which validate On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems are functioning properly on production-level vehicles.

  • Manage DDV and PVE testing for U.S. market.
  • Vehicle and program assignments for test engineers
  • Forecast workloads for labs and garage
  • Timing charts for vehicle testing / status reporting
  • Answer testing questions from TSRC and development teams
  • Process improvements and documentation

In addition to the responsibilities for the DDV and PVE programs, the selected candidate will serve in a supporting role for other tailpipe and EVAP test programs.

This is an onsite position at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI.  Occasional off shift/weekend support may be required. Work at CPG may be required up to 1 day per week.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience
  • Experience in automotive testing (with an emphasis on OBD) is required
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostics and Controller Area Network (CAN) data collection
  • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated organizational/tracking skills. This position requires tracking multiple vehicles and programs through a complex testing process.
  • Must have strong computer skills with a focus on data analysis (MS Excel and data processing/analysis tools)
  • Knowledge of North American emissions regulations, testing and certification processes/procedures.
  • Ability to work onsite with non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit personnel in labs and garages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required for interacting with powertrain and vehicle development teams.
  • Exposure to corporate software applications (test request/processing system, calibration tools & applications, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a Science, Computer, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
  • Working knowledge of regulatory homologation activities and certification processes/procedures
  • Previous supervisor or manager level experience
  • Hybrid and/or Electric vehicle testing experience
  • Propulsion system calibration or aftertreatment system experience
