Duties and Responsibilities
- Assesses coating systems, corrosion inhibitors, and maintenance strategies to enhance pipeline longevity and performance.
- Conducts material verification, maintain traceability records, and perform pressure testing to validate compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contributes to the development, calibration, and maintenance of risk assessment models for both transmission and distribution pipeline systems.
- Interprets data from inline inspections (ILI), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) platforms, historical failure records, and operational reports to identify and prioritize integrity threats.
- Prepares detailed technical reports and audit-ready documentation to support integrity management programs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinates with operations, regulatory affairs, and third-party contractors to implement best practices and ensure adherence to integrity management regulations.
- Executes inline inspections, hydrostatic testing, direct assessments, and other methodologies to detect and address threats such as corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and mechanical damage.
- Participates in regulatory response efforts, ensuring internal practices align with current and emerging integrity management requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
- Required: Ability to apply continuous improvement principles to pipeline performance.
- Required: Ability to evaluate operating conditions and apply sound technical judgment.
- Required: Ability to lead discrete integrity, analysis, or improvement initiatives.
- Required: In-depth knowledge of pipeline behavior, threats, and operating constraints.
- Required: Knowledge of inspection, testing, and regulatory compliance processes.
- Required: Skill in diagnosing integrity, corrosion, or performance issues.
- Required: Skill in explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Required: This position adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as required by 49 CFR Part 40, 199, and 382, respectively. Applicants must meet all DOT requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
