1st, Material Handler Coordinator, 10HR Components Material Days
About the role
Material Coordinators are tasked to work on a variety of different components that vary from location to location. Activities include, but are not limited to, operating heavy machinery such as forklifts, tuggers, tractors, hoists, & cranes. Although you will receive appropriate training to operate these heavy vehicles, you will not be exclusively operating vehicles. Material handlers may also check, store, disburse, or fill orders for parts, materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:
- Knowledge of Warehouse functions within SAP required
- Knowledge of Controlled Storage locations and outside locations needed
- Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions and able to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license
- Knowledge of line locations and drop areas for materials a plus
- Good troubleshooting skills

Qualifications:
- High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
- Basic reading, writing, math, & verbal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Must have both written and verbal (give instructions) communication skills.
- Good people skills required.
- Must have the ability to learn and run required computer applications.
- Possess required math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must have the ability to understand and apply engineering specifications, Change Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Good problem-solving skills required.
Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:
Experience and education are a plus; however, it’s not required. Wabash provides training for all material handler positions. Upon receiving a letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor. Working conditions may consist of loud noise, welding, paint fumes, and grinding dust.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites where the noise level can be very loud with high temperatures and be exposed to outside elements at times. Physical Demands:
As an employee in this department, you are regularly required to stand, walk, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs a full range of motion in arms and hands in this position. All personnel must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. In this position, some employees also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
