About the role

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Functional S&TI Directorate, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Serves as a Division Chief within one of the Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S and TI) Directorates.

Responsible for planning, directing, controlling and evaluating the work of a division whose mission is production of scientific and technical intelligence on the capabilities and performance of worldwide, foreign ground force weapons.

Responsible for using all appropriate scientific and intelligence methods including personal experience conducting engineering and/or scientific analysis to assess ground force weapons capabilities.

Oversees the functions of research, analysis, evaluation and interpretation of raw intelligence data, and engineering to identify significant foreign weapons scientific and technical advances, trends and directions.

Technically and administratively supervises a staff of intelligence analysts, scientists, and engineers.

Develops, staffs, administers, and manages the Division production program to include the interface with the customers, forecast production requirements.
