About the role
Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to employees while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Major duties include, but are not limited to: Support worker-centered occupational safety and health procedures while also promoting worker health, monitoring, and tracking the health status and well-being of employees, and assessing workplace safety from hazards and contaminants in the workplace. EOH RN is a novice nurse, with, upon hiring, no experience of the situations in which they are ultimately expected to perform. Educated about situations in terms of objective attributes and other measurable parameters of a patient's condition, features of the task world that can be recognized without situational experience. Obtains knowledge to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills. Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Note: Only education or degrees recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) may be used to qualify for nursing positions. The approving official may authorize a waiver of the requirement for ACEN or CCNE accreditation of any degree in nursing provided the college or university has regional accreditation from an accrediting body recognized by the Department of Education at the time of the candidate's graduation and the composite qualifications of the applicant warrant such consideration.
