Nurse (Inpatient Clinical/OB-GYN)

About the Position: This position is with Evans Army Community Hospital, Directorate of Nursing, Mother/Baby Unit at Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Recruitment or relocation incentive MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Student loan repayment MAY be authorized Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced leave accrual MAY be authorized. Advanced in hire MAY be authorized.

Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to OB/GYN patients and their newborn.

Set up and operate specialized monitoring equipment (i.e., blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, fetal heart rate monitors (internal and external), neonatal resuscitation equipment, cardiac monitoring, and infant warmers).

Assign duties and delegates patient care to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, operating room technicians, and medical assistants.

Coordinate case management needs with the case and outcomes management team and develop nursing care plans and procedures.

Provide perioperative care to include serving as the circulating RN for cesarean sections and additional obstetric surgical procedures.

Coordinate patient education activities; ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
