The Role:
We’re seeking a experienced and dedicated Dock/Warehouse Clerk who brings enthusiasm, energy, good organizational skills and a high attention to detail to the table. In this role, you will assist in the handling of inbound and outbound shipments of forklifts, preparing of outbound freight by building and securing the forklifts to wood cradles, maintain accurate inventory records, washing & de-parting of forklifts. This role requires good physical stamina and the ability to work in adverse temperatures/weather. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Loading and unloading of Raymond electric forklifts on & off trailers safely.
- Operating Forklifts to safely move inventory
- Securing of forklifts on trailer for safe transportation
- Preparing forklifts for transport by using power tools, regular tools and a 10 ton hoist, to attach/detach wooden cradles, stand up and lay down forklifts
- Help transport forklifts between facilities as needed
- Verify Bill of Lading, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy and log discrepancies immediately.
- Submit all paperwork to supervisor for approval to ensure accurate inventory is maintained.
- Assisting in the washing/cleaning of forklifts for preparation of service or sale.
- De-parting of forklifts of major components for resale to the Parts Warehouse and eventual recycling of the forklift.
- Ensure a safe, organized and efficient work environment, utilizing the companies 5S program.
- Follow standard work to complete tasks and perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
- Makes recommendations to change outdated or ineffective procedures through the kaizen process
What We’re Looking For:
- General Dock/warehouse experience is a plus, but not required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to become certified to operate a forklift
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to read and interpret Bill of Ladings, equipment manuals, and safety documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse environment that can be noisy and exposed to varied weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, kneel, climb while loading/unloading, chaining and securing equipment
- Strong organizations skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal/written instructions
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and following established maintenance procedures.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills through on-the-job training and manufacturer-supported programs.
What Sets You Apart:
- 1 + years of dock/warehouse or automotive experience
- A High School Diploma or GED
Where and When You’ll Work:
- This is an in-person role located at our East Syracuse, New York facility—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. All required tools for successful completion of your work are provided by the company.
- This role is first shift Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 2:30PM. Some overtime required to support production demands.
