About the role
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for improving manufacturing and operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and on-time delivery. This role focuses on analyzing workflows, optimizing production systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. The Industrial Engineer partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of production plans and achievement of key performance objectives. The ideal candidate is analytical, data-driven, and experienced in manufacturing processes, process optimization, and performance improvement methodologies.
This position reports to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing activities related to modular reconfigurations, makeover builds, and modification projects.
- Ensure efficient execution of manufacturing schedules while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Manage labor allocation, workflow balancing, and production priorities to meet internal and external delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, procurement, and logistics.
- Maintain strong understanding of production scheduling, master scheduling, capacity planning, and manufacturing lead times.
- Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance through disciplined schedule management and operational execution.
- Develop, track, and report KPIs including OTD, labor efficiency, productivity, quality metrics, downtime, and safety performance.
- Utilize data analytics and operational reporting to identify trends and drive operational improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture throughout manufacturing operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, leads, and manufacturing personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and 7–10 years of relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prior experience in modular manufacturing, construction manufacturing, or custom manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles
- Experience with process improvement and operational optimization
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and workflow analysis
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production data analysis tools preferred
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making
