Position Summary

The Group Leader is responsible for overseeing various aspects of departmental operations, including safety, quality, team member training, organization management, and more. They play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and fostering team development.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

• Conduct regular safety audits, promptly address safety concerns, and manage safety incident protocols.
• Perform quality audits, implement corrective actions, and manage procedures for quality problems.
• Train and oversee Team Member training, maintain training records, and ensure compliance with training standards.
• Manage departmental organization, including headcount planning, and team member communication.
• Evaluate Team Leader performance, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and promote team members for skill advancement, manage promotion processes, and track training progress.
• Conduct personnel investigations and administer corrective action when necessary.
• Manage inventory and asset tracking, including reporting and periodic audits.
• Implement cost reduction measures and maintain records of cost-saving activities.
• Maintain action item lists, prioritize tasks, and hold cross-functional team meetings.
• Develop and maintain departmental budgets, track expenses, and plan for future needs.
• Oversee documentation management, including digital and physical records.
• Lead department audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage departmental activities during off-shift and non-production hours, including production planning, shutdown schedules, and trial management.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production processes.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a demanding environment.
• Experience with budget management and cost reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles.
• Familiarity with documentation management systems.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve departmental goals.

 Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma
