About the role

As part of the Quality Policy, the System Auditor conducts quality system audits within company domains against QMS standards, advises auditees on improving operating methods, and ensures the definition and follow-up of action plans. At Level 2, the auditor leads audit activities and coordinates a small team of auditors during audit execution, ensuring consistency of assessment and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality system audits in assigned domains in accordance with QMS standards.
  • Assess the level of control of audited processes, identify gaps and their severity, and propose improvement actions.
  • Guarantee that deviations are addressed through appropriate root-cause analysis and that corrective and preventive actions are defined and implemented.
  • Monitor action plan progress; raise alerts through the appropriate channels in case of drift.
  • Verify the effectiveness of action plans in the field.
  • Support risk assessment activities as a preventive approach based on QMS standards.
  • Improve audit processes based on company priorities and customer requests.
  • Support the qualification plan and monitoring of plant auditors.
  • Prepare site/facility and support functions for obtaining and maintaining external certifications (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949, ISO/IEC 17025, COP).
  • Lead audits performed with 2–3 auditors, including work planning, task allocation, and consolidation of audit evidence and conclusions.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to less experienced auditors during audit preparation and execution.

Core Skills (Technical)

  • Working knowledge of QMS and audit practices, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
  • Solid understanding of ISO/IATF requirements relevant to the scope (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO/IEC 17025, COP) and their application in operations.
  • Ability to lead audit evidence collection, structure findings, and ensure traceability from requirement to observation.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone, corrective/preventive action effectiveness checks).
  • Capability to coach others on audit methods and action plan tracking.

Soft Skills

  • Integrity, objectivity, and discretion.
  • Facilitation skills to run audit interviews and working sessions effectively.
  • Stakeholder management and ability to address resistance while keeping discussions fact-based.
  • Leadership without authority (coordinating 2–3 auditors; aligning cross-functional contributors).
  • Clear written communication for audit reports and executive-ready summaries.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in quality, auditing, or a related operational domain
  • Technical competence in 2–3 of the following domains: vehicle development, manufacturing/production, distribution, sales, or aftersales
  • Strong working knowledge of QMS principles and quality processes; familiarity with audit standards and management systems
  • Problem-solving mindset and effective use of quality tools (e.g., prioritization, root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive action management)
  • Rigor, objectivity, and impartiality; maintains credibility through professional conduct
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; active listening skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate transversal work across functions and regions during audits
