About the role

You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department, Code 200, Test Engineering Division, Code 246 of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will perform and oversee adequate and accurate work authorization and tagout actions for the safe release of work and testing.

You will be responsible for ensuring that testing is conducted in a safe manner.

You will review test documents for adequacy, clarity, and completeness.

You will develop technically engineered detailed test procedures for system and component operational, strength, tightness and cleanliness type testing.

You will assist in preparing and delivering lectures on shipboard systems and test program administration.

You will audit all completed tests to ensure that all administrative and technical requirements are satisfied.
