About the role

The VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Professional Practice and Development Coordinator position in Dallas, TX. This role contributes to elevating care quality across specified areas by providing constructive feedback, distributing essential knowledge for safe nursing practice, and fostering ongoing professional development.

Supports and serves as the subject matter expert for professional clinical practice to the Patient Care Services. Provides leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility to support nursing practice at the point of care. Responsible for facilitating the development, promotion, and diffusion of best nursing practices working closely with the Nursing Professional Practice Committee leadership team. Reports directly to the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services - patient flow (D, AD/PCS). Responsible for collaborating with all the nursing service leaderships in the development and implementation of policies and practices that support high-quality healthcare delivery by RNs, LVN, NA, and HTs. Uses professional nursing principles, theories, and practices, along with knowledge in nursing practice to achieve optimal structure, programs, policies, and tools to facilitate initiatives to meet the needs of the VANTHCS, emphasizing patient-centered care across the continuum of health care settings and excellence in nursing care delivery practices. The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
