About the role

This position is located in the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and will serve as the Financial Resource Specialist within a State Office. The incumbent will perform a variety of complex duties and assignments in support of the formulation, allocation, utilization, analysis, and reporting of financial resources necessary to accomplish the mission responsibilities of the state, area and field offices of NRCS.

Analyzes financial information to confirm proper execution of funds in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, and as directed by the state.

Provides support, guidance, and assistance to the State Conservationist (STC) and State Leadership Team (SLT).

Projecting, planning, allocating, executing fund certification, managing/tracking, and reporting on the financial and technical assistance resources needed to carry out the business of conservation at the state, area, and field levels.

Prepares a variety of recurring and non-recurring reports pertaining to financial management of programs and functions, for presentation to the supervisor and other management officials.

Coordinates with National Service Delivery Teams to identify and resolve questions and errors related to budget allocation, execution, reporting and payments.

Interacts and communicates with staff of the state, area, and field offices; national headquarters; and NSDTs as appropriate, as well as with other Federal and State agencies, external organizations, and members of the general public.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Foreign Education: You must submit verification that education completed in a foreign institution, was recognized by an accreditation body accepted by the U.S. Department of Education. Your transcripts must be in English or include an English translation. You may submit an unofficial copy of your transcript at the initial phase of the application process.
