Engineering Supervisor or Manager, SVBU

Hendrickson is seeking an Engineering Supervisor or Manager for their Specialty Vehicles Business Unit in Woodridge, IL.  This individual will provide management and direction for all new product programs and new concept development, utilizing the Product Planning and Development Process in the Business Unit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Technical and project leadership

• Provide timely program completion. 
• Provide leadership in creating innovative product designs and developing them through Proof of Concept.
• Provide technical input and participate with the Director of Engineering and Business Unit Director to identify opportunities and define product requirements.

• Liaison with cross functional teams as primary technical resource

Employee Development

• Effective management team of technical professionals
• Track and report progress of engineering tasks to support business unit programs
• Hiring manager for business unit’s technical staff
• Identify development opportunities and provide coaching for employees to reach career goals
• Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving employee morale

Team and Group Development

• Drive continuous improvement mindset through coaching and leadership by example
• Find opportunities to improve processes both within and outside of the business unit
• Strong understanding of your leadership style and how to leverage it to improve team morale and productivity
• Clear vision of the team culture you want to cultivate

The successful candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, agricultural, or aeronautical engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive, preferably truck, chassis system design and /or development.
• Demonstrated experience in the structural design of vehicle chassis systems and components, including fatigue analysis and life prediction techniques.
• Formal skills training in team dynamics, problem solving techniques, and leadership.

This role will be filled as a supervisor or manager depending on the skills and experience of the chosen candidate. For those to be considered for the manager level position, 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range for these positions is $115,000-160,000. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. This pay range is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
