About the role

Primary Purpose
Assists in translating business needs into functional specifications for system improvements. Ensures clarity and accuracy in requirements to support efficient system changes and user adoption.

Duties and Responsibilities

Gathers comprehensive business requirements through structured interviews, document analysis, and workflow observations to ensure accurate system specifications.
Documents detailed requirements using standard templates, methodologies, and tools to create clear specifications for development teams.
Conducts thorough gap analysis between current system capabilities and desired business outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
Creates detailed process maps and data flow diagrams to visualize complex business processes and information exchanges between systems.
Participates in system testing activities including user acceptance testing to ensure applications meet defined business requirements and quality standards.
Supports the implementation of new systems or enhancements by developing user documentation, and conducting training sessions.
Communicates regular status updates to project team members and stakeholders using appropriate channels and formats tailored to audience needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education

Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Required Experience

Typically requires 2 years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to explain requirements to technical and non-technical peers.
Ability to manage individual deliverables with minimal supervision.
Ability to translate basic business needs into clear system requirements.
Knowledge of common business analysis techniques such as process mapping and use cases.
Knowledge of system development life cycle concepts.
Skill in eliciting and documenting functional requirements with limited guidance.
Skill in validating requirements for clarity and completeness.
