About the role
The Self-Managed Commercial Area Manager (CAM) is a revenue-generating field sales position responsible for growing Stellantis commercial vehicle sales and strengthening customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role focuses primarily on retaining, growing, and maximizing existing commercial fleet and business accounts while supporting dealerships in the development of commercial sales opportunities.
The Commercial Area Manager develops and executes strategic account plans to drive sales of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, FIAT, and Ram commercial vehicles. Responsibilities include managing key customer relationships, identifying opportunities for incremental growth, supporting customer retention initiatives, improving order-to-delivery performance, and serving as a trusted advisor to both fleet customers and dealer partners.
The CAM works collaboratively with commercial dealerships, fleet customers, bailment pools, upfitters, and internal stakeholders to ensure customers receive world-class support while maximizing revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing commercial fleet and small business accounts.
- Develop and implement territory strategies to increase vehicle sales, customer retention, and overall revenue performance.
- Conduct regular customer reviews to identify opportunities for fleet expansion, vehicle replacement cycles, and additional Stellantis product utilization.
- Act as the primary liaison between customers, dealerships, and Stellantis to support account management and issue resolution.
- Provide consultative expertise on total cost of ownership (TCO), vehicle lifecycle management, and fleet optimization strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely communication regarding Stellantis programs, incentives, VIP offerings, Service Net programs, and fleet initiatives.
- Work closely with commercial dealerships to improve fleet sales effectiveness and customer engagement.
- Assist dealers with inventory planning and commercial vehicle availability to meet local market demand.
- Provide consultation and support regarding commercial vehicle upfitting solutions and vocational fleet applications.
- Support and coordinate local commercial sales events, customer meetings, ride-and-drive activities, and industry networking opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with second-stage manufacturers, upfitters, and commercial industry partners.
- Ensure fleet sales are accurately reported through audits and correction processes when necessary.
- Provide monthly sales forecasts and support volume planning activities.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with customers and dealers within the assigned region.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong fiscal responsibility and business discipline.
Stellantis Value Creation Program (VCP) Execution & Forecast Management:
- Drive value creation initiatives across Fleet Sales by identifying process improvements, developing business cases, and executing initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and financial performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across sales, operations, finance, and related functions to implement value creation opportunities, track outcomes, and ensure successful delivery of strategic business objectives.
- Support the execution of Stellantis' Value Creation Program (VCP) initiatives by identifying, validating, and tracking revenue, volume, and profitability opportunities within assigned accounts and territories.
- Partner with leadership to provide timely and accurate shipment actuals, monitor initiative performance, and ensure VCP benefits are reflected in business results.
- Maintain ownership of account forecasts, proactively updating volume projections, opportunity pipelines, and recovery plans as market conditions, customer demand, or shipment performance changes.
- Deliver disciplined reporting and accountability for VCP commitments, ensuring forecast accuracy and alignment to enterprise targets.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid driver’s license required
- 5+ years of experience in fleet sales, commercial sales, account management, or automotive B2B sales.
- Experience managing and growing existing customer relationships.
- Experience working in an automotive, fleet, transportation, or commercial vehicle environment.
- Strong consultative selling, influencing, and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
- Must live or be willing to relocate to Nebraska or Kansas.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Experience utilizing Salesforce, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of dealership commercial sales operations.
- OEM field sales experience supporting fleet or commercial market segments.
- Strong commercial vehicle product knowledge.
- Experience supporting fleet account growth and retention strategies.
- Knowledge of commercial financing, fleet management, and TCO analysis.
- Experience working with commercial vehicle upfitters and bailment pools.
- Demonstrated success managing large customer portfolios.
