Supports professional quality control and inspection programs by preparing data, documentation, and basic analyses under guidance. Contributes to consistent execution of procedures and accurate reporting to enable reliable, safe distribution operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs routine inspections of electric and gas distribution systems to check for compliance with standards.
- Maintains up-to-date records of inspection findings, including test results and issue logs for traceability and audit purposes.
- Verifies that work packages include required procedures, mark-out tickets, and mapping information.
- Confirms use of approved materials and proper installation methods during field inspections.
- Identifies basic non-compliant conditions and suggests corrective actions to senior inspectors.
- Prepares inspection reports to support internal tracking and regulatory compliance.
- Analyzes gas records and ensures documentation practices follow company procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Required: Typically requires 0 years of related experience.
- Required: Ability to apply established quality control procedures to routine inspection data and documentation.
- Required: Ability to build inspection and quality knowledge through structured training and supervision.
- Required: Ability to identify straightforward quality deviations using predefined criteria.
- Required: Knowledge of basic safety, environmental, and compliance requirements affecting field inspections.
- Required: Knowledge of fundamental electric and gas distribution systems and inspection terminology.
- Required: Skill in communicating clear, factual inspection information to internal stakeholders.
- Required: Skill in using standard utility systems to review inspection records and findings.
- Required: This position adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as required by 49 CFR Part 40, 199, and 382, respectively. Applicants must meet all DOT requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
