This position is designated as SES, Career-Reserved. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level II with a salary range of $204,122-$216,010 per year. Formulating and evaluating policies and programs relating to food and agricultural research, education and extension as well as operational activities, including budget, policy, personnel and civil rights.

Provides oversight to foster strategic alignment of National Institute of Food and Agriculture's program institutes, international programs, planning and accountability functions, and operational/administrative systems.

May act for the Director during absences, including approval of policy documents, funding actions, official correspondence, and authorization of official travel, in consultation with REE leadership.

Leads the integration of science programs and administrative operations to implement and advance National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s tripartite mission across three major program areas: Research, Extension and Education.
