GENERAL STUDENT TRAINEE (FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT)

The NRO Summer Internship Program provides students pursuing education with paid opportunities to work at the NRO and explore career paths related to their academic field of study or career interest. Interns will receive training and guidance to prepare them to support NRO projects and initiatives.

This is a temporary position - JUNE 2027 NTE AUGUST 2027. As a GENERAL STUDENT TRAINEE (FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT) you will be responsible for the following duties: Budget Formulation - forecasting budget needs for future years by planning/balancing limited resources Budget Execution - day-to-day budget actions/reporting and contractor performance analysis Fiscal Law & Policy - Execute budgets within legal parameters and policy; unique to federal government Financial Systems - learn/leverage available systems/databases to perform analysis supporting decisions related to budget

All applicants must submit college or university unofficial transcripts as proof of enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, current enrollment in a full-time course load, and to confirm GPA requirement. Official Transcripts and other required Official supporting documentation must be submitted by selected students prior to their start date. Undergraduates must have a completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at the time of application. 1st year Graduate Students must submit their transcript from their previous undergraduate program to show they meet the GPA requirement. Transfer Students must submit their transcript from their previous institution if their GPA is not included on the unofficial transcript from their current institution. Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions. If substituting education for experience, transcripts MUST be provided.
