Duties/Responsibilities: (essential job functions in order of importance)
- Inspect, kit, install, and assemble components of fiber-optic medical products: optical fibers, ferrules, connectors, and packaging components.
- Operate manufacturing test equipment: fiber-optic strippers and cleavers, power meters, oscilloscopes, laser test stations, RFID readers, and microscopes.
- Use bonding materials: epoxies, glues, etc.
- Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties.
- Use generic cleaning liquids (alcohol, isopropanol alcohol, acetone, etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas.
- Cross-train in production process or area as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Meet assigned production metrics as defined by the Supervisor.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
LEVEL II
- Perform basic setup, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
- Train other assemblers as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Perform light manufacturing and use of assembly equipment, such as ultrasonic welder, soldering stations, optical fiber cutters/strippers, screwdrivers, tape measure, wrenches, and other small hand tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel files.
- Microscope experience preferred.
LEVEL II
- Minimum of 1-2 Years of related assembly experience.
- Perform tasks and carries out successive steps of routine work in accordance with instructions provided by the supervisor, policies, and procedures; requires instructions only on new assignments.
