Position Summary
Prepare for and provide quality delivery of assigned courses using curriculum materials and commonly accepted instructional methods (e.g., presentations, labs, group work, simulations). Evaluate student performance and support student success through advisement, tutoring, and referrals. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements while fostering a student-centered learning environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate a student-centered learning process in classrooms, labs, externships, and online platforms
- Secure and utilize approved course materials and teaching methods
- Understand and follow compliance-related responsibilities
- Communicate, support, and enforce school policies; advise students on attendance, grades, and discipline
- Complete required documentation (attendance, grades, reports, advising forms) accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate records and communicate concerns to management
- Provide academic support and tutoring as needed
- Develop learning aids, projects, and assessments relevant to course content
- Enrich instruction with personal experience and industry relevance
- Collaborate with other departments to support campus goals
- Motivate students through professionalism, enthusiasm, and sensitivity
- Adapt instructions to accommodate different learning styles
- Complete required training and stay current with curriculum updates
- Maintain required credentials (certifications, licenses, CEUs)
- Contribute to curriculum review as needed
- Visit externship/partner sites and complete documentation (as applicable)
- Promote and maintain safe learning environments
- Assist with classroom equipment and inventory
- Support program promotion through facility tours and Q&A with prospective students
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to professional growth

Development Pathway to Level III
To be considered for Instructor Level III, instructors are expected to:
- Demonstrate consistent excellence in instructional delivery and student outcomes
- Take initiative in curriculum development and instructional innovation
- Actively mentor or support junior instructors when opportunities arise
- Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills
- Participate in program planning, scheduling, or coordination efforts
- Maintain all required credentials and pursue advanced certifications or degrees
- Receive positive performance evaluations and demonstrate leadership potential
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in delivering student-centered instruction across various modalities (in-person, lab, online)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials and assessments
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students and colleagues
- Competence in maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Familiarity with compliance standards and institutional policies
- Ability to motivate and support diverse learners
- Proficiency in using learning management systems and instructional technology
- Commitment to continuous professional development and credential maintenance
- Ability to collaborate across departments to support institutional goals
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
- Ability to participate in occasional overnight travel
Education and Experience
- Industry-recognized certifications or licenses relevant to the instructional area
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
- OEM, trade school, or Equivalent industry related training
- Experience with Microsoft office
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment that requires normal safety precautions. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items up to 25 pounds. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities.
