About the role
NVH VMFD Performance Engineer:
- Noise, Vibration, & Harshness Performance responsible for Structure, Isolation, NVH Vehicle Trade Offs Chassis Integration NVH & Ride Comfort
- Responsible for establishing NVH enablers required to meet program targets for Structure, Isolation, Chassis NVH & Ride Comfort
- Responsible for tracking NVH attributes/component status to target using scorecards, reporting status and escalating issues to Projects teams
- Responsible for scheduling and coordinating NVH benchmarking, standardized testing and target setting.
- On Site Working Position – CTC
- Responsible for ensuring that the vehicle DVP is completed accurately and on time.
- Establish component level targets to align with vehicle level targets and track during development
- Support Root Cause and enabler development activities of new NVH issues identified
- Support Global NVH Road Map / Decoupled Development Activities
- Support Cost Reduction Initiatives and quantify performance effects
- Support quality / warranty improvement NVH initiatives
- Support identification and development of new technologies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Structural Dynamics and/or Chassis Design Experience and/or Ride Comfort tuning experience
- Minimum of 5 years of NVH engineering experience
- Must have proven record for solving technical problems
- Must have demonstrated leadership ability
- Must be organized, motivated, adept with engineering practices, and able to direct mechanics, technicians, test and simulation engineers
- Must be experienced / familiar with benchmarking, standardized testing and target setting
- Must be able to work with technical experts to convey complex issues and technical data in a clear and concise manner
- Must be familiar with standard vehicle development program timing and NVH program deliverables
- Must have working knowledge of NVH analysis Software (i.e. LMS, Head Acoustics, B&K)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Engineering Degree
- Design for Six Sigma certification
- Vehicle Dynamics or Chassis Experience
- 4 post shaker knowledge or experience
- Multi-Body Simulation /Adams modeling experience
