Supervisory Veterans Service Representative (VSR)

The Supervisory Veterans Service Representative (Assistant Coach) leads an assigned team within the Veterans Service Center (VSC) division through a staff of personnel responsible for providing information, advice and assistance on all types of Veterans benefits claims administered by the VSC to veterans and their dependents and for providing outreach services to various stakeholders.

This position supervises staff who adjudicates and authorizes Veterans' compensation and pension claims. The Supervisor Veterans Service Representative (VSR) works in the Veteran Service Center (VSC) or Pension Management Center (PMC) Major Duties: Advise the Coach, or division leadership on the daily operation of the assigned teams (e.g. performance and workload management), in order to achieve goals and objectives of VA benefits programs as they relate to the VSC or PMC. Effectively plans and assigns work to the team, understand the relationship or tasks routinely assigned to the team. Demonstrate expertise in all phases of the claims activity that directs and develops ways to improve production, improve timeliness and/or improve the quality of work. Ensures that the team's quality and timeliness of service meets performance indicator goals. Responsible for the cost-effective use of resources to accomplish the team's assigned outcomes. Gathers, interprets, and recommends appropriate action based on a wide range of data addressing service concerns. Analyzes and interprets laws, rules and regulations and their effect on the establishment of new policies, procedures, and/or methods of operation. Monitor leave balances, approve/deny leave, and certify timecards. Run production and workload reports. Communicate with senior management.
