POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Development and Training Manager develops and delivers engaging training for retail banking employees. This role helps employees build measurable skills, knowledge, and confidence through practical learning experiences that support exceptional customer service, consultative selling, operational consistency, and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Promote Central Bank’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to extraordinary service throughout each learning experience.
  • Partner with Retail Banking and Branch Operations leadership, the Corporate Trainer, and subject matter experts to assess needs and develop, deliver, and evaluate training for new and existing retail employees.
  • Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, web-based, and blended training covering banking fundamentals, products, systems, procedures, consultative selling, customer service, regulations, compliance, technology changes, and professional skills.
  • Coordinate new-hire, cross-training, refresher, procedural-update, and system-conversion programs for tellers and customer service representatives.
  • Visit branches to observe performance and provide hands-on coaching, reinforcement, and training; travel is required.
  • Lead retail training projects and manage supporting logistics, including materials, SME content editing, session hosting, calendars, registration, invitations, reminders, recordings, and follow-up.
  • Identify root causes of performance gaps, recommend practical learning solutions, and continuously improve training content and delivery methods to ensure overall profitability.
  • Assist in Branch Audits and Audit Initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible for review and adherence to several specialized reporting requirements. This includes but is not limited to acting as the Market’s Records Custodian.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
  • Comply with all applicable banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act requirements and information security standards.

This position starts at $23.04 and can increase from there depending on experience.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a financial institution and three years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience creating and facilitating learning or training materials for in-person and virtual audiences; blended-delivery experience is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of frontline retail banking procedures, systems, technology, products, consultative selling, and customer service practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, relationship-building, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, problem-solving, and project-management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new banking technology and systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Ability to travel to branch locations and adapt to changing training schedules, systems, and priorities.
