Engineering Technician (Civil)

About the Position: This position is with Southern California Area Office, Vandenberg AFB Resident Office. Incumbent works under the general supervision of the Area Engineer who establishes overall objectives, andprovides guidance on policy, controversial and precedent setting matters. Recruitment or Relocation incentives may be authorized if found in the best interest of the Government.

Applies a practical knowledge of contract administration principles and practices, as wellas construction methods and techniques to accomplish assignments.

Projects within the boundariesof the Construction Division support Civil Works and Military Construction programs, the Interagencyand International program, and the Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) program.

The civil worksprogram consists of a wide variety of projects from routine stream bank protection to the constructionof fully developed flood diversion and protection structures

Military construction projects involveprojects that range from repaving parking lots to construction of new and remodel/retrofit of buildingprojects for upgrade of Army and Air Force facilities.

Construction is performed under rigid completion schedulesand requires strict adherence to safety standards.
