About the role

Primary Purpose
Develops detailed work packages and verifies design feasibility for electric distribution projects. Ensures adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, enabling reliable system performance and timely project completion.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conducts verification of employee qualifications to ensure alignment with applicable safety and operational standards.
  • Carries out job site safety analyses and promotes continued safe practices.
  • Prepares corrective action proposals with supporting justification for identified deficiencies.
  • Coordinates with line crews during the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission and distribution circuits.
  • Monitors adherence to safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Verifies distribution equipment integrity and functionality through field inspections and basic diagnostics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Frequent, independent driving to meetings, company locations, field locations and/or active incidents sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance with traffic laws is essential to this position and cannot reasonably be accomplished via alternative transportation. Qualifications

Required Education
  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Required Experience
  • Typically requires 2 years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to coordinate inputs across field operations, engineering, and scheduling functions.
  • Ability to evaluate distribution system data, work packages, or designs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to perform assigned work independently with general supervision.
  • Knowledge of electric distribution equipment, materials, and common construction or maintenance methods.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, codes, and standards affecting distribution construction or maintenance.
  • Skill in applying judgment to resolve standard technical or coordination issues using existing solutions.
  • Skill in preparing accurate documentation to support planning, cost tracking, or compliance activities.
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • A valid California driver's license is required.
