Our client is a law firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Support the defense side of civil disputes from initial case assessment through trial, partnering daily with more senior lawyers. The work spans court appearances, evidence gathering, client updates and legal research, and suits an independent attorney who wants room to grow.

What you'll do

- Appear at hearings, conduct and defend depositions, and put agreed case strategy into action.

- Prepare and answer pretrial fact-finding requests in written form.

- Keep clients informed through regular, proactive communication during each matter.

- Deliver prompt, accurate status reports that meet client reporting expectations.

- Research legal issues and investigate facts at every phase of a case.

- Work with senior lawyers each day to assess cases and prepare for trial.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Law degree from an accredited school.

- Current licensure with the Texas bar, in good standing.

- At least 2 years representing defendants in civil lawsuits.

- Hands-on experience with depositions and pretrial fact-finding.

- Ability to draft pleadings, motions and written discovery.

- Solid legal research and case analysis skills.

- Persuasive written and spoken advocacy.

- Self-directed approach to managing a caseload and several deadlines at once.

- Must be authorized to work in the US.

Bonus points

- Background at a larger or mid-sized firm that handles defense work.

- Experience arguing motions and appearing in court.

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 125,000 to 180,000 per year
