Visual Information Specialist

bout the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Operations and Production Directorate, Production Support Division, Creative Services Branch, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Serves as a Visual Information Specialist supporting intelligence analysis through visual communication and graphic design.

Collaborates with analysts and subject-matter experts to translate complex information into clear, precise visual products.

Designs and produces original illustrations, diagrams, infographics, charts, layouts, and data visualizations to convey analytical messages.

Applies sound principles of information design, typography, color, layout, and visual hierarchy across all deliverables.

Advises customers on visual formats, design approaches, production methods, and digital delivery options.

Uses professional design software to create static graphics, digital publications, and, when required, interactive or motion-based products

Prepares products for digital briefings, publications, approved web platforms, and other authorized dissemination channels.

Provides technical guidance on visual communication, design tools, and production workflows.
