Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Credential Validation in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication to employees and visitors while supporting a caring, team-oriented culture. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and control access to restricted operational areas.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and access-control documentation while communicating professionally with site representatives and emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
