This position is with Helena Products Group (HPG). HPG develops Helena's extensive portfolio of proprietary products that includes seven product categories covering both crop production and crop protection. HPG leads the industry in creating innovations and formulation technologies and operates out of a state-of-the-art research, development and training facility located in Memphis, TN.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Regional Technical Sales Manager (RTSM) leads and manages a regional team of Technical Sales Specialists (TSS) to drive technical excellence, sales enablement, and go‑to‑market execution for Helena products within the assigned region. This role combines people leadership, cross‑functional coordination, technical oversight, and strategic direction to strengthen Helena's market presence, accelerate sales growth, and support product performance confidence across the region.
The RTSM ensures consistent delivery of high‑quality technical sales support, product training, data‑driven marketing insights, and field execution. This leader partners closely with Sales & Marketing leadership, Strategic Accounts Managers (SAMs), Product Managers (PMs), Agronomy, R&D, Regulatory, and external partners to deliver aligned regional strategies and support Helena's commercial objectives.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
- Leads, coaches, and develops a regional team of TSS.
- Sets priorities, manages workload distribution, and ensures consistent execution of TSS responsibilities across the region.
- Provides ongoing feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development planning.
- Fosters a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performance culture aligned with Helena's values.
- Guides TSS team in delivering high‑quality technical sales support for PMs and sales teams.
- Ensures consistent, data‑driven product training across the region.
- Oversees development of technical messages, sales tools, program training, and product positioning materials.
- Support sales and marketing leadership in regional product launches, sales initiatives, and commercial strategy execution.
- Strengthens relationships with key HPG suppliers and partner companies within the region.
- Leads regional GTM planning and alignment with BU SAMs, TSS and HPG leadership.
- Ensures timely and effective execution of EVOLVE sales support tactics.
- Monitors the effectiveness of field execution and provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Drives creation and deployment of technical support materials that enhance commercial impact.
- Oversees demonstration plots, field trials, and regional data generation activities to support product messaging.
- Provides regional oversight of complaint handling, PQN processes, and complex tank‑mix or performance issues.
- Supports TSS involvement in regulatory reviews, label questions, and identification of needed updates.
- Partners with regulatory and technical services teams to ensure regional compliance and alignment.
- Coordinates regional testing needs with the HPG R&D team.
- Oversees TSS involvement in trial protocol development, trial placement, and data review.
- Ensures regional BU/division feedback and informs R&D of priorities and action plans.
- Supports budget planning, trial execution, and regional R&D communication.
- Oversees TSS development and maintenance of relationships with universities, COIs, and government partners.
- Identifies and prioritizes regional academic and research partnerships to support commercial objectives.
- Strengthens technical credibility and external visibility for Helena across the region.
- May be required to operate a company vehicle.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
- Reliable and regular attendance is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in agronomy, plant science, agriculture, or related field is required.
- Ph.D. is preferred.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degrees.
- 10+ years of experience in technical sales, agronomy, product development, or related commercial ag role.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven leadership experience managing people or cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate research data.
- Travel by various means 50--70% of the time is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB
The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
