About the Position: This announcement is for the position of Lock and Dam Equipment Repairer Supervisor, WA-5318-07, at Lock and Dam 17 in New Boston, IL.

Serve as the working supervisor of employees involved in lock and dam facility operation and routine upkeep and maintenance work.

Plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools on a day to day, project by project basis.

Provide technical direction and assists in accomplishing difficult, new, or changed work processes or methods.

Assign work to individual employees involved in the performance of facility maintenance activities.

Assign, track and report the progress of work assignments.

Inspect completed work for quality and work order/assignment requirements.

Advise, performance rate, and counsel employees.

Serve as primary credit card holder and maintain associated records on usage and purchases.

Implement management programs such as incentive awards, cost reduction, affirmative action, time and leave, and overtime.

Assure that equipment, tools, supplies, and material are maintained and used properly.

Recommend changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences, as necessary.

Analyze and remedy problems such as equipment failure, material delays, or unplanned absences.
