Role Description

 This is a full-time, on-site position based in Rochester, NY. The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, including payroll, recruitment, hiring, employee relations, and HR initiatives.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional service to employees and candidates. This position will assist with addressing workplace concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and helping foster a positive and engaging work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll accurately and timely, including preparation of associated financial reports.
  • Assist supervisors with editing and maintaining employee time records, and assist employees with questions regarding Paylocity, including logging in, requesting time off, and accessing timekeeping records.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling employee, payroll, and other sensitive information.
  • Support recruitment efforts, with a primary focus on hiring for the Rochester, NY location, while providing assistance with recruitment for the Spindale, NC location as needed.
  • Conduct employment interviews and facility tours, and coordinate pre-employment screening and related hiring activities.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee files, records, and HR statistics in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders through various communication methods to ensure clear understanding and accurate exchange of information.
  • Provide general support to the HR team and assist with HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs and training initiatives.
  • Support and monitor the consistent application of company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws across the organization.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and professional development opportunities as necessary to maintain and enhance HR knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with the administration of employee recreational activities and other programs designed to encourage employee engagement, participation, and morale.
  • Consult and coordinate with the HR Director and HR Business Partner regarding employee relations matters, HR policies, and pay practices.
  • Follow and support all company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities while working successfully in a fast-paced environment.

Other responsibilities: 

· Responsible for the compiling and issuing of periodic and special reports as required.

· Keeps HR and Managers advised on significant situations and trends through periodic meetings

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively handle employee relations issues

Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial: 

  • Knowledge of Paylocity
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment
