About the role

About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Traffic Management Specialist in the roll of a Mission Integrator for the G3 Operations Directorate. As a Mission Integrator, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development the relationships needed to bring all parts of the Defense Transportation System (DTS) enterprise together to meet the needs of the Department of Defense (DOD).

Plans and coordinates cargo movement requirements for the division by interpreting and implementing new or revised directives.

Analyzes terminal operations capabilities and systems to ensure requirements are met as determined by the Command.

Uses automated transportation management systems to plan, coordinate, forecast, and maintain in-transit visibility of movement requirements.

Renders assistance on difficult cases or problems related to cargo movements for internal and external agencies.

Conducts daily/weekly briefings to supervisor and senior leadership concerning the status of current and planned movements.

Serves as a representative at meetings of governmental groups to provide traffic management assistance and collect data.

Develops recommendations for best courses of action by analyzing transportation industry capabilities under various emergency conditions.

Recommends appropriate transport service by analyzing data based on mission cargo locations and unique requirements.

Develops staff recommendations for correction or improvement by analyzing after-action reports and performance data.
