Recreation Assistant (Ski Patrol) NF-03

This position is located at the Victor Constant Ski Area, Army Community Recreation Division at West Point Outdoor Recreation Department. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Area of Consideration This job is open to US Citizens and Non-Citizens residing within a 75-mile radius of West Point, NY. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

Responsible for all mountain safety activities such as opening and closing trails, removing, reporting and marking hazards and reporting trail conditions.

Performs trail checks, responds to accidents, provides emergency medical care necessary to pass the patient to the next level of care, assists with mountain rescue including lift evacuation and transport.

Ensure first aid supplies and equipment are maintained and available at all times. Efficiently and safely provide direct patient care; including determining the nature of injury, equipment needed for stabilization and transport.

Ensures patrons are authorized users of the facility. Ensures that patrons comply with applicable ski patrol rules and standards. Maintains assigned area in a clean and orderly manner.

Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the ski area while maintaining ski area signs, ropes and padding. Ensures compliance with fire, safety and security standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
