Job Summary
The Performance Enablement Consultant (PEC) serves as a strategic business partner to operating partners & school leaders, providing coaching, performance consulting, and operational guidance to drive excellence across Child Development Schools. This role focuses on helping operating partners and school leaders achieve key business, people, enrollment, quality, and family experience outcomes while maintaining alignment with CDS standards, values, and educational practices.
The Performance Enablement Consultant leverages analytics, field observations, leadership coaching, and continuous improvement methodologies to build leader capability, improve school performance, and ensure sustainable results. This role acts as a trusted advisor, balancing accountability with support to drive operational excellence and educational quality.
* Remote-first, 50-60% travel, collaborative and fast-paced
Major Tasks
- Serve as the primary performance coach and operational advisor for assigned region and Operating Partners.
- Build trusted relationships with Operating Partners and school leaders to drive accountability, operational excellence, and business results.
- Leverage data & performance metrics to coach leaders on performance management, decision-making, team effectiveness, and execution of strategic priorities.
- Leverage business and financial data to help leaders understand performance drivers, identify opportunities, and develop action plans that improve outcomes.
- Conduct regular business reviews focused on enrollment, revenue, labor management, profitability, customer experience, operational metrics, and overall school
- Partner with leaders to create and execute performance improvement plans that address operational, financial, and leadership opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of regional licensing regulations, accreditation requirements, quality standards, and operational expectations that impact assigned schools.
- Conduct bi-annual observations, assessments, and school reviews to evaluate compliance with CDS standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coach Operating Partners and school leaders on quality expectations, compliance requirements, and best practices that support safe, high-quality operations.
- Partner with Operating Partners & Center Directors to proactively identify compliance risks, address gaps, and implement corrective action plans.
- Monitor quality performance metrics, audit results, and compliance trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Training teams to ensure schools are prepared for inspections, assessments, accreditation reviews, and other compliance-related activities.
- Reinforce a culture of accountability and operational excellence by helping leaders understand the connection between quality standards, customer experience, enrollment growth, and business
- Partners cross-functionally identify field insights, share best practices, and develop solutions that enhance school performance, leader effectiveness, and organizational success.
- Leads the successful adoption of new programs and initiatives by assessing change readiness, addressing implementation barriers, providing field support, and ensuring sustainable execution of organizational priorities.
Required Skills
- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial performance metrics
- Ability to coach Operating Partners and school leaders on business management, financial decision-making, operational effectiveness, and growth strategies.
- Skilled at translating performance data into actionable insights and measurable improvement
- Strong coaching, consulting, influencing, and relationship-building
- Ability to balance support, development, and accountability while driving sustainable
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, regulatory compliance requirements, and operational standards within the assigned region.
- Ability to assess compliance risks, interpret quality metrics, and coach leaders toward sustainable improvement and adherence to standards.
- Demonstrated ability to balance quality excellence, operational effectiveness, and business performance objectives.
5+ years of experience in multi-unit operations, franchise support, business consulting, performance improvement, organizational development, or related field.
Educational Requirements
Minimum / Preferred Educational Level Description
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Degree Organizational Development, Education, Early
Childhood Education, Human Resources, or related field required.
